Rezday

Yesterday was my second rezday in Second Life. I admit I haven't been inworld very much; my human preoccupied with other interests, but I still wake up from time to time for visits.

I celebrated by visiting some of my old haunts, and reminiscing:

I plan on being around for quite a wile yet, even if I don't post again until my third rezday.

Belated Rezday

I've had a lot of RL issues come up recently, and my human was out of town for several days last week; so I was a bit shocked when I realized that I had missed my own rezday: Dec. 9! In the compressed world of SL, it seems much longer. So much has happened, and I've gone through a lot of changes.

The unbearable noobiness of being

I Can Sing a Rainbow

Winlight has returned, in the form of a FirstLook client. The lighting is amazing, and the water is fantastic!

I suggest that anyone reading this should run, not walk, to secondlife.com, and download this viewer to try it out. Hopefully, they'll work out the remaining rough edges (if any) quickly and get it incorporated into the main release.

There goes the neighborhood

A neighbor two parcels over just put up a big skybox which blocks my view to the west.

The roof is covered with a huge "YARD SALE" sign, and the other end is open, so I guess that's what's going in there. I hope he or she has the decency to change the outside texture to something more inspiring: a Monet, perhaps?

Nerd Test

Took the Nerd Test at http://www.nerdtests.com/ft_nt2.php.

NerdTests.com says I'm a Dorky Nerd King. What are you? Click here!

Apparently, I rate as a Dorky Nerd King. Well, no surprises there...

Will work for prims

I got a gig helping build a new sim, Beyond Eden. It's a lot of fun having 15,000 prims to play with, plus I get some RL income out of the deal as well. Now all I need is inspiration...

Sometimes I Just Can't Help Redecorating

I was getting tired of clouds drifting through my workshop, so I lashed everything down and moved the complex up to 300 meters. It was also time to tear down all of the buildings and rebuild with something different (always an ongoing project in my case). Taking inspiration* from SteamSkyCity, I jettisoned the noisy steampunk rocket engines underneath and put in a central tower with 30-meter-diameter counterrotating props to hold the complex in the air.
